Daly City needs Annette Hipona—
It is easy for every candidate to support public safety, emergency services, filling potholes, clean streets, and community centers. Daly City needs a candidate with the courage to deal with the tougher issues. We need someone to say no to special interests and to fight to put the people's voice first.
An independent voice that can't be bought by special interests
I decline donations from developers or other groups or individuals who may come before the City Council at some future time seeking a financial benefits.
An outspoken advocate for preserving our neighborhood quality of life
I will preserve the small town feel of our neighborhoods and their rich cultural and economic diversity. I won't build a huge project next to your house, if I am not willing to build it next to mine. I support new development that bring affordable housing and living wage jobs. I insist on equal treatment and services in all parts of town.
Protecting your home and business from eminent domain seizures
A champion of open government
My voice and vote, along with reform Councilmember Judith Christensen, will force the City Council to openly discuss and take a stand on such critical issues as eminent domain, government ethics, building height limits next to your home, and sweetheart deals for developers. I insist on full public notice and clear agenda descriptions. As a guardian, of our limited tax dollars I won't give away our public land or money to developers in sweetheart deals. I will be a tough negotiator for the people of Daly City in all financial dealings.
